Art Deco & Art Nouveau

Main image

Two leading art movements linking the late 19th to early 20th Century both of which had a huge influence and impact on architectural, ceramic, furniture, jewellery, and fashion design.

Art Nouveau designs are easily recognised by their curving shapes and trailing naturalistic motifs.

Whilst some Art Deco designs were typified by elegant inlays and exotic woods after 1925 more use was made of "new" materials such as chromium, aluminium and steel and designs became more angular

We usually have a good selection of items from both of these classic design eras.
